Putnam County Threat Assessment Reporting

TAM Objective

A threat assessment is the evaluation of a reported risk to public safety. Each reported circumstance shall receive immediate attention. The primary purpose of a threat assessment is to prevent targeted violence and provide appropriate interventions that cease the concerning behavior. Examples of behaviors that raise concerns about the potential for violence include, but are not limited to, thoughts of self- harm, or harming others at school/work, church, or home, changes in one’s behavior, the planning of an attack, or seeking revenge for a real or perceived threat.
